Downloaded MPTagThat.

Installed .NET 4 and .NET updates from Windows updates.

Installed MPTagThat.

On opening MPTagThat I get the splash screen displaying:
Version: 3.0.4.0
Build Date: 23/11/2011 16:37
Setting up Grids...

Behind the splash screen is a popup error box showing:
BASSCD
X Incorrect BASS.DLL version (2.4 is required)

Have re-booted PC - same thing happens

Have re-installed MPTagThat - same thing happens

How can I get round this?

Many thanks

Jimmy

You have most probably somewhere a BASSCD.dll in your path, which could result from another product install.
    Look into e.g. Windows\system or windows\system32

    Many thanks for your reply.

I don't appear to have BASSCD.dll anywhere on my C: (System) drive.

In Windows\System32 I have a number of dll files that might be relevant:
    bass.dll
    bass_acc.dll
    bass_alac.dll
    bass_ape.dll
    bass_flac.dll
    bass_mpc.dll
    bass_tta.dll
    bass_ww.dll
These are all dated 01/02/2007 23:19
    The bass.dll shows:
    Company: Un4seen Development
    File Version: 2.3.0.2

There are other bass related dll files in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal (I have also downloaded and installed MediaPortal):
    bass.dll
    Bass.Net.dll
    bass_vis.dll
    bassasio.dll
    bassmix.dll
    BassRegistration.dll
    BassVisAPI.Net.dll
    bass_fx.dll
    bass_vst.dll
    bass_wadsp.dll
These are all dated 13/11/2011 12:53

    The bass.dll shows:
    Company: Un4seen Development
    File Version: 2.4.7.0

Am I right in thinking that I can
    1. Rename the bass.dll in Windows\System32 to something like bass.dlx (just to keep it in case of future need)
    2. Copy the bass.dll from Program Files\MediaPortal into Windows\System32
    3. Re-boot

Or is it more complicated than that?

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I want to be sure and provide all relevant info.

    Regards

    Jimmy

Yes, could be a solution, but then maybe the program, which originally installed bass.dll in windows\system32 doesn't work anymore.
    Just give it a try.
