First of, as of last night I'd been running the latest versions of StreamedMP and PureVisionHD compatible with MP 1.2.1 and would switch from one to the other every couple of nights.
Last night, 18 Oct 2011, it was Streamed's turn. I configured the MP GUI and fired up MP1.2.1. Upon it starting I was met with the "Streamed Update available" notifier, so I attempted to run the upgrade from within MP. It hung. After 20-minutes or so, I checked the Task Manager and, sure enough, the Streamed install was non-responsive.
No problem: end the task, exit MP, download the 1.7.2 rev of SMP, install, and all will be well. Right?
Wrong.
The installation completed, I fired up MP and the screen continued to show my desktop, though MP was running. (The desktop icons were there, but not selectable since it seemed that MP was running "transparently.") Task Manager, end the MP application, reconfigure MP to start with PVHD. Same thing! Try with Default Wide. At least that works.
(When I change to windowed mode, I verified that MP starts, but never fully loads and shows a black window which "captures" whatever was behind it upon start-up: drag it, and the icons from the desktop that were under it follow along.)
OK, so then I uninstalled SMP (control panel) and re-installed it after I noticed a slew of errors in the error.log. Same thing with both GUIs--Default Wide works, still.
Do I now proceed with repairing MP, or do I remove both GUIs (Streamed and PureVision) and re-install those?
(full logs from last night attached along with an image of MP window dragged)
thanks in advance.
