Hi,

I'm nowadays using Mediaportal/TV-Server RC3. I'm having some problems with the Cinergy Ci (Pci) incl. CI module with an Alphacrypt (3.05 firmware).
Problems are:
- Slow tuning (+/- 5-7 seconds)
- Sometimes no channel at all (no graph detected), when I press prev and next it could work
- White stripes above Discovery Channel (Ziggo - Netherlands) and CNN (VBI???) - should I crop this?
- Very instable during recording / playback of recordings (.ts) (I can put some logs if needed). This results in a MediaPortal crash regularly.

Anyone knows how to solve these problems or make some improvement?
Things I could do:

- Update firmware Alphacrypt (don't know if it improves anything)

As for the TV Server settings: almost everything is setup as default, I only extended the EPG timeout to 120 minutes.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Frank

Definitely upgrade the Alphacrypt to 3.11 or higher!.. It is a wonder that you have a picture at all. What I have learned is that the "customized" Irdeto II encryption Ziggo uses only can be handled by Alphacrypt classsic with firmware 3.11 or higher.

You need a laptop with a PCMCIA slot to be able to upgrade the Alphacrypt.

    Hi Lots,

Thanks so far! good to know that it will make an absolute difference. Now, I tried the website AlphaCrypt: Home. When I get to the update page, I can only find the 3.09 firmware (which looks a bit outdated and is older than the 3.11 as you've mentioned). Please advise?

Okay, recently upgraded my Alphacrypt to 3.18. Also did a re-install of MP with the latest RC4 version. Still, I've got some instability problems.

For example : when I resume my system from S3, I sometimes get graph errors when tuning to a channel. Sometimes after resumes, it continues straight away. Don't know if this has anything to do with my card or TV-server though.

Also, I tried to record a program recently. While it was recording, I watched the same channel simultaneously, which seemed fine. After about one hour , the timeshift playback started to show hicks. So I tried to re-tune to the channel, which gave graph errors. Then I tried it via manual control in the TV Configurator - still graph problems. I waited for the recording to finish, but the .ts stream was gone.

I'm constantly having this kind of instability problems, which are very annoying. Is this a terratec thing (they don't seem to update their drivers and/or firmware very often), or do I need some magical settings?

    Any help is appreciated!!

    Greets, Frank
