I have the following problem on my MP installation. MP is only started and running fullscreen. Nothing is playing. Only main menu is on the screen. At this time i have 60% cpu load and if I play something I have 100% CPU load nearly all the time.
Has anyone some tips how to get figured out what this can be?
I have tried to deactivate all plugins that are active. No success. Different VGA driver versions won´t help.
Thanks for any tip.
Logs attached.

My CPU runs at an average of 40% while watching a DVD image from hard disk. In idle MP uses approximately 4% (average).

I have had issues with the TV card in the past where it would push my CPU to 100%. Perhaps disabling it will get you further?

It is possible that your HDD(s) is/are running in PIO mode.

    1. Right click on My Computer and select properties.
    2. Go to the hardware tab and click on Device Manager.
    3. Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
    4. For *all* of the IDE channels: right click->properties, go to the advanced settings tab, set the transfer mode on both devices to "DMA if available".
    5. Restart your computer.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I do sometimes get the idea that my HD is slow so I checked it and my SATA disk is running in DMA mode. I also did the available test. SATA 300, Burst speed 88.2 and Sustrained speed 60.5

When I copy an iso file from one partition to another partition (same disk) I only get about 18mb/s and total CPU load is about 20%. On my other system this is about 40mb/s with a total CPU load of 8%. Although the second system is a bit more recent, I still think it is quite a difference.

Just a few ideas/things to try:

    1. Increase the amount of RAM allocated to the GPU.

    2. Disable thumbnail generation in MP.

Is this a new problem (you have a lot of forum posts so I asume you are not a new user of MP) ?

I also use SATA disks with AHCI. The PIO/DMA check is still relevant...

I´ve checked all things mentioned here:
DMA Mode of HD´s, RAM for graphic adapter, thumbnail generation.
I think, the only thing that was a small help, was to give the onboard graphic adapter (Radeon HD3200) the maximum of RAM in bios (512MB).
But i still have nearly 40% of cpu load when i open the tv plugin. No tv running!
When i enter the music plugin, i have about 25% of cpu load without anyting playing.
No antivirus is installed on my MP machine.
