very powerful mediaportal server - can I use a weak client?? (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I am implementing a very powerful Server edition (good graphic card, excellent cpu....)
can i use a very normal HTPC client (weak cpu and weak graphic card)? and stream over wifi the video and hope it will work?
or should i connect the client to the server wit an HDMI cable??

Hi and welcome Samir

Better to have a powerful client and a weak server. The client is the one that is responsible for decoding video, which is the heaviest job. Decoding h.264 video in particular requires either a reasonably powerful CPU or a decent GPU which is capable of hardware accelerated video decoding (DXVA).
