very very bad sound with mediaportal (1 Viewer)

I'm not too confident in normalize... as I don't want the dynamics of individual tracks of music to be lost. It's an odd thing to listen to when a quiet track is pumped up to match a louder track.

On the music tab in MP config, I'm using S/P DIF out settings and I have Upmix to 5.1 checked.

On Direct Show Filter Control I have the Monogram AAC Decoder set with NO channel mixing and a volume of -3.5 dB

This seems to give me the better sound quality.... Setting the Monogram filter to Upmix to 5.1 and volume to 0.0 seems to me to be the problem... maybe over-processing the audio from the Bass engine. I don't know....

I tried your setting without success....

Is there any way to tell to mediaportal "don't play with codecs just pass thru the song to winamp" ?

I tried many setting, and still have this little distorsion... With directx acceleration, without.. setting PCM 16 24 32 bit.. IEEE float or not .. Normalize sound or not..
Winamp plugin .. not winamp plugin..

dshow player.. Bass player... default direct sound device.. c sound wave device....

I've tried with 2 differents sound cards.. i'm getting crazy i don't understand why out of mediaportal all is ok and inside it sound is so crappy... Cannot believe that i'm alone in this case..

Just have to uncheck amd cool'n'quiet feature in BIOS and tada !!!

Maybe it could be on the FAQ...
