Hi all,

I've had this problem for a while and its bugging me - i cant work out why it happens, but for some reason the VFD on the front of my case seems to report the wrong programme and sometimes even the wrong channel (its always a channel ive been watching..like its lagging behind). Anyone know if this is a known bug/there is a fix? Its an IMON VFD from the antec case.

It works fine for everything else such as videos, music etc. Its just the TV programme info thats screwed. My TV card is a hauppauge nova 500-t dual tuner.

Hi,

I have the same problem. If i am using DVB-T channels there is no problem but wenn i use the channel guide and select an analog channel i got listed the old channel on my Scaleo E Display. Do you have the problem at all channels? What tvsignal do you have? is ist analog or dvb-s/c/t. I think the problem is caused through missing epg informations. Because at moment i´m using epg on the digital channels and the are always shown correct but at the analog channels the display shows the given name ( edited in tvserver configuration ) an no information available. I think there is no entry for the anlog channels in my configuration and so MP isn´t updating the display. if i chance the channels only up and down everything is fine. Currently i am at work im going to test manual editing of the epg file for analog channels. I think i could live with an information like "Analog Channel no EPG" an use Teletext :)
Later i wan´t to use WebEPG but at moment i am to stupid to configure that plugin. Yes its my first MediaPortal experience. But after only 4 weeks i got nearly everthing working :) Going to test it later and report you!

Sorry for my bad English but i have only slept 3 hours spending some time with configuring MediaPortal tonight :)

Regards Rüdy

Hi

I have noticed this for the last few months. I was using the External Display plugin but am now using the CybrDisplay External Status Plugin (although I should update the version as I am using one from March).

The problem only seems to occur for me if I change channel via the EPG screen. When I move the cursor on the programme on the EPG the highlighted details display on the VFD. I then press OK on the remote to select the programme. MediaPortal changes channel, the EPG details stay for a few seconds and then the display shows the details of the channel and programme for the previous channel. If I then press the Information button, this seems to cause the VFD to refresh and updates it with the new channel and programme details.

If I change channel using the mini-EPG (now & next guide) or using the remote's up and down buttons then then VFD shows the correct details.

Test Tool logs attached, with examples of channel change via EPG followed by pressing the info button to refresh the VFD display and mini-EPG and channel up/down channel changes.

I´ve testing a bit and now i can see the problem isn´t the EPG information. It seems to be the EPG screen. I think the EPG screen doesn´t chance the channel for the displayed EPG information. I have been reading the xml files but can´t see if the problem is caused there. Reading the log files can take some time :D
At the moment i think that problem maybe the channel-changing operation in the tv guide. Can some one test if this problem only hapens if you are changing channels withing one transponder ( same frequenc in dvb-t oder dvb-c ) or even when you switch to an other transponder. Sorry have currently no access to my mashine :D
It´s just an idea that came me while reading the log files. Because changing the channel from transponder to transponder seems to be a different operation than changing channel within one transponder!

I have been reading the logfiles but concentrated on the informations given from the Mediaportal. I can only say thats impressiv. I thought sometimes why can´t mp switch channels faster but if you see what going on behind you know why. Your log would have been 300 sites printed! For me there is a problem. Because i can read whats happening. But at moment i can´t see the channel changing from the EPG screen. I can´t see when the mini epg was started or when the channel has been changed via the channel up or down key. But im missing the channel change via the epg screen. Can you start the mediaportal an do some switches via the epg screen and send my the logfile? Just some channel switches via the epg screen an nothing else, that would be fine. At moment it looks for me if the epg screen would directly chance the channel on ther tvserver. You started the Mp and then started tv with bbc two. In the log bbc two stays a long time. But the timeshiftfile has been pauses and continued some times while that bbc two period. I can even see that mediaportal chanced the audio channel or better said reconnected to the same audio channel. Later i can see that you zapped from bbc two to bbc one. And at this time i can see that mediaportal switches from one channel to another. i can even see its done via miniepg and later via up down key. Ok i have to say thats my first time logfile reading. But i realy want to find the problem an solve it or find a workarround. Perfect would be if you make a logfile and even write down which time you chanced from which channel to which other channel!

I have exactly the same issue (also under RC2)
The channel on the external display shows as the previous program unless I; Bring up info on the current program, or, Go into 'My TV' and then back to LiveTV.
Note this is using the TVService not MP Clients built in TV.

I can confirm that the problem is related to the TV server - I uninstalled the TV server from one of the machines and now the display (Scaleo E) works as expected.

How do we submit this as a bug?
