P.S. now powerdvd and win mediaplayer have very dark playback
looks like normal chroma, but very low white level

have you tried any other DVD codecs to see if its related, for example the cyberlink codecs to see if it plays in MP?

i have tried but the codec shows as cyberlink video/SP decoder
I am using cyberlink powerdvd7
windows mediaplayer is dark as well
I was at the plugin page and downloaded the Divx player bundle and it plays dark too
anybody else have a nvidia card that has HDCP---high def content protection--?
my monitor is a 55" toshiba dlp tv set to 1080i
i could put up with the loss of dvd play back using other software, but i have a bunch of commercial dvd's --several hundred-- and do not want to archive them to remove encryption-- which is the loss of video problem I think????
any other video clips, downloaded shorts, games, sd or low def video all plays fine in all players.
as soon as i use a dvd of any kind all players show dark screen but play
MP plays unencrypted dvd's just fine
and the splash and intro to encrypted dvd play fing as soon as movie starts video goes black but sound works---------could it be the nvidia hdcp????


before i installed this software all players worked fine
