Video lag with MP4 files (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm running an older version of MediaPortal (1.0.0 to be precise) which has been working great until now. I've got TVSeries and Moving Pictures plugins installed and everything has been working fine. Until now. I just downloaded some MP4 files but they are not playing properly; I'm getting a lot of video lag. At first I thought it might be the file, but a second MP4 gave me the same result. I tried viewing it in VLC 2.0.0 and it works fine. So I'm stuck believing there is something with the MP player that is not working well.

Is there anything that can be done about this? Using VLC as an external plugin is a bit of a pain to configure, and not really a good solution (can't configure the auto-skip increments, TVSeries marks a show as viewed immediately once opened in VLC whether viewed to the end or not, etc...).

I would rather not have to upgrade to MP1.2 simply b/c I don't have the time to reinstall the plugins and ensure everything is working smoothly.

Is there anything I can do with my current installation / configuration?

Thanks,

Eric

I also had this problem recently
Video was lagging so audio was getting about 5-10seconds ahead of the video
I am on the latest version but this shouldn't make much difference

This fixed it for me, i was trying quite a few things
    tried DivX decoder (didnt help)
    Video Drivers
    Checked Directx
    updated ac3filter
Installed latest ffdshow (ffdshow-tryout) (i believe it was this that fixed it in the end, i asked it to reset settings during reinstall)

    good luck
