Video playback of WTV files: some have no audio while others do, even when part of the same series. (1 Viewer)

    Hello

I am new to Media Portal and have a dedicated server setup with several clients. When viewing WTV files (recorded using WMC) some do not have audio when using MP (1.11) but have perfect audio using Windows Media Player or WMC.

I attach a log and a screen shot of the video client configuration.

What is puzzling me is that when programs belonging to the same series, one might play no audio while all of the others do; but all work when not using MP.

Is there something I am not understanding?

    Thanks, in advance.

    Tony

I am not a technical person, but from experience, try taking the tick out of the box that says 'manually select source and splitter filters'.

Hmm, from my point of view MediaInfo didn't detect audio in file:

    [2015-07-05 19:17:26,024] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - MediaInfoWrapper.MediaInfoWrapper: AudioChannels : 0 [ "0.png" ]

You have mediainfo v 0.7.69 which is not so old.
    That's strange fro me. :(

Mybe you could try another available audio filter fror MPEG/AC3 audio. But more important is to try another Audio Renderer - DirectSound Default smth.

    Hi lisag

Great answer. That's fixed it. Can't understand why 'manually select source and splitter filters' defaults to ON.

Still getting around what are the best settings.

    Thanks again.

    Tony[DOUBLEPOST=1436128894][/DOUBLEPOST]Hi Edalex

As a matter of interest, it didn't matter which audio renderer option I selected, this file would not play audio.

This behaviour happened on all of my client machines for the same file (each having different audio devices).

When I deselected 'manually select source and splitter filters' all was well.

    Thanks for the contribution.
