In version 1.2.3 all video files played well (.MP4/M4V/M2TS), using the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video decoder. After an upgrade installation to 1.3.0.226 an error states that it can not play -> Codec AVC.
Using LAV on Video and Audio Codec or any other combination (microsoft, ffshow) fails. An M2TS container wil stil play. A clean installation will also not work.

    Hi Robert

Using LAV on Video and Audio Codec or any other combination (microsoft, ffshow) fails.

Then welcome to codec hell, not sure which order you installed ffdshow, but you have 2 choices, if you want ffdshow, then install SAF6, if you do not need it, remove, uninstall LAV filters and reboot.

Now run filmerit (link in signature) fix any errors found, and use the desktop NP extensions installer to just install LAV filters, reboot and you should be good to play everything.

I uninstalled MP 1.3.0 Beta, cleaned the codecs ,with the tool mentioned, did a reboot, installed MP , but left out the LAV filters (gave an error in a earlier installation) , then used MP extension installer to install LAv filters and it works. Perfect, thank you.
