Hi All,

I have setup my Video folder and all my videos appear in the video list (They are all .avi files), but when I double click them nothing happens. I have also tried right clicking and selecting play - still nothing! My TV works fine. Am I supposed to setup a video player or something?

Thanks in advance.

Alan

MPEG-2 video settings = MPV Decoder Filter (there are no other options)
H.264 video decoder = nothing (There are no options to choose from)

Also, I am using XP Pro not Vista

Oh and some of them do play in Media Player, but for others Media Player can't find the codec. None of them play in Media Portal and there are no error messages.

I installed the codec pack and now MP just freezes when it loads.

Restarting to see if it fixes

Do the files that did not play correctly now work within Windows Media player, maybe reboot as this does write to the registry, so changes may not be totally effective until this is done.

open MP config, under Television, DVD and Movies you will need to set codecs for use, recommend MPV for mpeg2 video, ffdshow for HD, ffdshow for Audio all with default directsound device for audio renderer.

    Regards

People sometimes forget we are working with pc's and for some changes to take full effect, you have to do a reboot :)

Glad it's working for you now.
