I misread GPU-Z for CPU-Z (already installed) but I'm gonna try that test later (having the task manager open now to check memory usage between TV episodes). Do I just keep GPU-Z open and alt-tab it on top or what steps do you suggest I try?

When I ran a 720p .mkv in WMP, the nonpaged memory stabilized at 29904 after a couple of minutes. In MePo, so far it's about the same. But I haven't had it running as long as I normally do, but I'll keep checking throughout the night.

That's pretty much all you can do, a couple of hours i would of thought should be enough, if it runs fine, then there is not a memory leak eating up your ram.

If it returns after a few days, I would consider doing a stress test on main memory with memtest or equivalent, that is one of the components i have changed more often than hdd's.

I've installed GPU-Z now and have set it to "log to file". It'll be interesting if the problem shows up later tonight.

Today I installed GeForce Drivers instead to see if I can get rid of this issue, but now it seems that I have a lip sync problem instead. :/
