[confirm] Videos in "MyMusic" only when ext is also in "MyVideos" (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

don't know, if I messed things up, but it's 100% reproducable.

Steps I did:

1. Placed .flv music videos in my music folder
2. added extension (.flv) to "MyMusic"
3. started MP
4. go to MyMusic
5. try to play video -> playback not possible
6. enter configuration again
7. added extension (.flv) to "MyVideos"
8. started MP
9. go to MyMusic
10. try to play video -> it now works


I tried searching the forum, but found nothing related...

When the video file starts to play, is it playing in 'My videos' or 'My music' ? We might have a clue if you had posted logs.

My gut feeling is that when it finds a video file, My Videos takes over.

However, this is not a bug.

My Music is intended for playing audio-only files. The fact that MP is future-proof for new audio formats by allowing you to add new extensions does mean that you will be able to make it do strange things.

Personally I don't think we should waste developer time on this sort of thing. If you want to play music videos, create a folder for them, add it to my videos and you are sorted.

you are right... it's not a real bug with highest priority... just wanted to let people know

i mean playing videos out of "MyMusic"

i thought the feature to play videos inside mymusic is implemented and not just accidently working... I now know, that I have to add the extension to "MyMusic" to make files visible and add extension to "MyVideos" to make them play inside "MyMusic".

it's just a hint, not critics

I don't know if it is intended that you are able to play videos in My Music.

Perhaps someone else can comment.

i thought i have read, that this is already implemented for "MyMusic"..
