Hi, when I play SD video files on MePo they aren't scaling to my screen size, leaving thick black bars all around the picture. I can pick Zoom as the aspect ratio but that's a bit of a pain. I'm using ffdshow on it's default settings from SAF 5 and I've checked that scaling is turned on.

Any ideas?

    Hi there,

Have a look at the IFC (intelligent frame correction) plugin.

    Cheers

Yup, I tried that right after posting this but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Ok, this is weird. I considered the possibility that it's me doing something wrong in handbrake as I've just switched to that from DivX author.

Everything that's 4:3 displays fine. Everything that I've encoded with either program that's widescreen has black bars at both sides and top/bottom. Some things encoded by other people play fine even though they're widescreen.

I'm seriously baffled by this and would appreciate any suggestions.

Oh and I tried switching to PDVD10 filter in the MePo settings but that made no difference so I think the problem is in MePo.
