ok, thx.

1) perhaps one can tell me what the best setting are for

4:3 PAL
16:9 PAL (Real and False 16:9)
2,35:1 PAL (Real and False 2,35:1)

REAL = Station sending Film without Black Bars (in Germany i think its e.g ARD/ZDF)
False= Station sending Films with Black Bars in the Movie (4:3 = 16:9 or 2,35:1 with bars)

I use a Panasonic Plasma with 1280x768

What i want:

4:3 = should be zoom, dont stretched the Film. I want Cut up and down the Film
16:9 and 2,35:1 = full zoom, not scretched, no black bars

2) and work this plugin with TV3?

3) and how can i see if this plugin work?

    Hi again.

Normally the rules like I show them in the first post of this thread should fit you needs.
There are two rules so far.
    1. For Real 16:9 which simply switches to stretch. (I use also a Overscan value of 10 pixels)
    2. For 4:3 broadcasts. Which switches to the zoom mode you like (there is no really good mode right now). This rule also switches to the mode "Zoom" if it detects a Fake 16:9 signal (letterbox) if you have enabled the letterbox detection in this rule.

    To 2: Yes I uses TV3 myself.
To 3: You can see it in the log file. There are "ViewModeSwitcher" entries if it is enabled. Furthermore you can enable the verbose logging to see what the plugin "see's".

    Bye

in your picture u use 1024 (wide). is that the pixel of your TV? I have 1280x768, is 1280 the right value for my system?

    a) where can i find the LOG File
    b) I ve enable verbose logging, where can i see what the plugin see ?

The log file is normally in log subfolder of your mediaportal. Its the normal Mediaportal.log.
Read the description in the first thread carefully. With the information from the log file you can see the parameters of your broadcasts.

A real 16:9 PAL broadcast 720 pixel width with a aspect ratio of ~1.42222. That is the reason why you will see such an signal with a width of 1024 pixel (720 x 1,4222222222222222222222222222222 = 1024).

    lkuech,

having some issues with the plugin. Running SVNs of both MP and TV3 (11-03) and I have the following issue:

When starting MP I go into TV. I have defined that TV should be on by default, so it shows a channel right away.
Now, if this channel is 4:3 your plugin recognizes this and streches it properly. It also stretches every other 4:3 broadcast correctly.
However, if I switch to fullscreen the plusin seems to stop working. If I stay on a channel, which your plugin have streched properly, and then switch to fullscreen, it goes back to "Normal" aspect ratio. Switching channels does not help, not does going back to the original "window" mode (TV start screen) either. Once I hit fullscreen I have to restart MP for your plugin to work again.

I've attached my log with verbose logging turned on.

    Thanks.

    lkuech,

for some reason it's working now. All I did was a reinstallation of the latest TV3 SVN.

Anyway, no need for you to check things, unless you are curious.

    Cheers.
