ViewModeSwitcher plugin (Version 0.3) (5 Viewers)

Anything new with this? Also, can someone tell me where to put the .dll file? I've tried putting it in the plugins folder, and the MP folder.. but nothing shows up in MP config.

I could use some help to get the plugin working!

I've tried many configurations but the plugin doesn't change any viewing mode.

this is a quote out of the MediaPortal.log created while viewing a "fake 16:9 picture in a 4:3" stream (black bars on top/bottom and left/right) received over DVB-T.

Which exact values do i have to use to get the viewmodeswitcher working? (For the example above: mportal should change to zoom-mode)

Hi Lars,
don't know if you are still around. Just wanted to say a big thx. Finally switched to 0.2.3 and instantly tried your plugin. Beeing with the old tvengine it first did not work. So I figured your statement about the old tvengine and adjusted my parameters. And now it works like a charm.
So again big thx to you.

Yep. I'm still around. But unfortunately with much much less time
So I still did not find the time to bring version 0.3 on the road...

But nice to hear that you like it... I personally wouldn't use MP as TV receiver without such a function.

One question: In movies your plugin works too, right?
I have many movies with different resolutions but they have only a few different ARs.
When I want to use your plugin can I adjust it to only look for the right AR and then switch to Normal (for 4:3) or Zoom (for 16:9 and cinema format 2.3:1)?

New version is out.

Here are the new features:

• Some bug fixes.
• Fallback rule added (ViewModeSwitcher can now fallback to a predefined zoom mode if no rule fits)
• New option to rescan the rules after channel change. (This also resets the letterbox detection)
• Import/Export functions for the complete plugin settings. Makes it easier to exchange settings via the forum.
• MPI setup routine.
• configuration icon.

Hmm... the plugin works great, the only problem is that there's no way to use postprocessing/resize with it because it detects the already resized frame and doesn't apply the rules or if there's a way to do it please let me know...

but i dont see no information on MyTV



I use PowerDVD as MPEG2 Codec and my TV has a following resolution: 1280x720 (Panasonic Plasma TV)

have i the right settings?
