All mp users with problems with timeshift/recordings/channel change/slow channel start !!!! If someone is concerned, I guess I found the problem. Or I am close to the solution. The problem were my codecs. It looks like that tswriter.ax ot tsreader.ax is currently VERY sensitive to the codec configuration of windows (to merits etc). Yesterday I tried manual timeshifting and manual recording from TVServer with several settings. It resulted failing in channel changes and 0 kb recordings (ts and mpg), long channel startup times. Usual problems of many people. THEN I configured my ffdshow filter: set video and audio every stable format to libav codec. And WONDER: quick channel startup, channel changes, Recordings without problems and so on! Just for further Info: I am on Vista (with MS MPG2 codec), PowerDVD installed with the Cyberlink MPG2 Codec, ATi mpg2 codec, MPA and MPV codec of Mediaportal and ffdshow audio/video. It is not really clear for me, why codec configuration influences TV-Server/stream processing. Also not clear, how I can set the codecs used by TVServer (MP settings does not have any effect on it, I guess). Or why the TSWriter programmer/developer say that we have to use this and that codec for stability, or configure it himself. Maybe ParanoidDelusion could write us a "Merit" guide for Mediaportal! Along with a "Graphedit" guide for manual/forced control of the used codecs! I guess a lot of people read about "merits" and "render graphs" but they don´t know that they are to eat or drink. It would be great! A confirmation of a MP Dev would be also nice, you guys have much more idea about these things as I have!
