Vista Media Center recording stops when starting Media Portal (1 Viewer)

Im currently using Media Portal 1.0.1 strictly for my media and not TV (due to QAM not being supported on my M780). I use my Vista Media Center for both viewing TV and recording TV. If I am currently recording TV in the background and start up Media Portal my VMC recording stops. I am not running any media portal TV server and I do not have any of my TV cards enabled in the Media Portal Config.

Does anyone know a work around as I like to watch Movies in Media Portal while I record programs in VMC.
