I am having problems with Media Portal on Vista Ultimate. I store all of my movies on an Ubuntu server using samba. the drive the movies are on it mapped and available at drive U:\. On both XP MCE2005 and Vista, I have full read, write, and execute access.
On Vista, the video browser seems very sluggish...If I hit the right arrow key to toggle through, it goes fast, and then stops, then starts slow, and then stops, etc. If I hit "esc" during a movie, it takes maybe 10 seconds to get back to the video browser. and then when I return, I get sound sync problems. Pausing does the same thing, with audio sync problems. the whole interface seems slow. I am just browsing shares, not a database.
I have built it on two completely separate machines, and both exhibit the same behavior.
When I revert back to XP MCE2005, everything works fine.
