I have an issue with Vista .. Generally and with the TVService that just wont start .. I have read the setup guides and have installed TVServer on 2 x MCE systems with no problems using mysql and mssql, but with vista the service just will not start giving a "1053 the service did not respond in a timley manner" error .. thought it could be a defect and found some posts that said this could be an issue and that older versions would work so have tried about 8 levels going back to July. I have NIS2007 installed, so have disabled the firewall and anti virus (have not de-installed (( yet ))) but that is on the cards for tomorrow .. windows firewall is disabled also .. checked the event log and cannot see the error being dumped into any of the logs which is a little weird, i would have expected a service to generate a log. So, the question is has anyone else seen this ? or anyone with any experience with Vista and the TV Engine has any tips or docs that go through the setup for Vista ..
