The volume control on my laptop keyboard works fine but not the mute button. I think media portal or window xp pro is misinterprating the two different controls. Everything was fine on my DELL OEM VISTA HOME with media center. My laptop is a dell inspiron 1720 and did come with Vista media center package and remote control.
