MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0
MediaPortal Skin: MCE
Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: AMD 2500+
HDD: 200Gb Seagate
Memory: 512Mb DDR
Motherboard: ASUS
Motherboard Chipset: Nforce
Motherboard Bios:
Video Card: ATI 9250
Video Card Driver: latest
Sound Card: onboard
TV - HTPC Connection: Composite

I was running 0.2.0.0 on my HTPC and recently tried to upgrade it to 0.2.1.0 . At first it said I had a more recent version installed and couldn't install the new version. So I uninstalled the existing version and installed 0.2.1.0. I remember when I first installed MP 0.2.0.0 back in January I had some problems with the OSD flickering like crazy (using the MCE skin) and someone said to change to VMR9 renderer. So I did and all was peachy.

Now after installing the new version I can't remember where the option to use VMR9 is. It's not one of the options in the movies->Movie Player->Video Codec options. So I installed the latest ATI catalyst drivers but its still not there. It just offers me MPV Decoder Filter, DScaler MPEG2 Decoder and Cyberlink MPEG Muxer. So when I run a vid in MP it seems to drop frames every now and again and now I don't get any OSD when i move the mouse to the top or the bottom of the screen (but keyboard commands still work so I can stop the vid). I'm now using the blue 2 wide skin.

Please help as MP was great when it was working, and following the old proverb of "if it ain't broke, fix it til it is" I now only have a semi-functional HTPC.

If you need more info on the HTPC, drivers etc let me know.

Thanks

Eric

    Hi,

the VMR9 renderer is now the only available, so its picked automatically. You do not need to choose it in the settings.

For the topbar (OSD), please take a look into Configure->Plugins if its activated.
