Volume jumps on song transition (1 Viewer)

Hi there,
currently, my only MP issue deals with playing music: during the transition between songs, the volume jumps up to very loud, and gets back to normal after the cross-fading. Especially, when I skip to the next song, the voulume change is very annoying. I am using BASS, cross-faded 2 seconds and buffered 8 seconds.
Any ideas?
