Hi, i have a problem with the control of the volume. The control of the master does not work. Choosing master or wave in mp configuration the result is the same. The slider on vista mixer that one move is only mediaportal. It stop towards the high when is at the level of the master, so, now the only one solution, is set the volume of the master at top (before disable all windows sound from control panel... )

Same kind of issue for me.
And with BASS engine I cannot control the volume at all.
My audio card is a Audigy 2 ZS Notebook.
I am running Media Portal 0.2.3 under vistal ultimate.

I had the same problem with win XP in the 0.2.3. final release. First volume control works fine in the music module but suddently the volume control with remote (Hauppauge remote) stops. All other commands with the remote are still in function. After a complete reboot the volume control works again for an peroid of time and the problems occurs again. I noticed this strange behaviour only with the final release.

Thanks Paranoid Delusion, the volume control works fine now for video and music.
But when I use the Bass engine, the volume control is working for video, but nothing happen when playing music, I cannot change the volume level.

Any ideas ?

I found a workaround to solve my volume control under Vista with bass engine.
I simply run Media Portal in compatibility mode Windows XP SP2

Strange because mine works fine out of the box with Vista 32bit, could that be the difference.

You should not have to enable compatibility mode to get MP to run with Vista, your unique, first post i have read of someone doing this, must be a permissions thing have you got UAC enabled by any chance.

Unfortunately I'm not using UAC, I've disable it.

I've done some more tests:
With BASS the MP slider move in the vista volume mixer but the sound stay the same - Not OK
In compatibility mode this is the master slider that move and the sound level change - OK

With the internal dshow player this is the MP slider that move and the volume level change - OK

I hope this is clear and help...
