MediaPortal Version: 0.2.1.0 (no SVN)
MediaPortal Skin: MPBlue
Windows Version: MCE 2005
CPU Type: AMD Sempron Socket 754 3000+
Memory: Kingston 512 MB
Motherboard: MSI K8MM3-V
Motherboard Chipset: VIA K8M800
Motherboard Bios: Don't know
Sound Card: SB Live! 5.1
Sound Card AC3: 3,5mm--->coax
Sound Card Driver: Latest SB Live! 5.1 driver
MPEG2 Video Codec: MPV
MPEG2 Audio Codec: AC3Filter

First I need to thank you all that providing to the best HTPC-project ever!
I'm a proud user and problems doesn't come in my often...

But I've one minor problem that's occur when playing videos with MP3-audio. I set the volume to a good one when the video starts, but the further the video goes, the volume starts to drop to a lower level. It stays after it dropped to about 2/3 of the original volume. The strange thing is that if I pause/resume or rew/ff, the volume rise to a higher volume than it even was from the beginning.
I've tried to change codec (both AC3 and MPA), but both do the same thing. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem and if it's related to software, codec or the hardware?

FYI, I use a 6.1 receiver with ProLogic activated and digital-out activated in OS. The problem doesn't occur when watching TV or playing music.
Thankful for any information or tips!

    Do you have a microphone attached to the system so it picks up the sound and adjusts the volume?

    Hi Winux,

    Do you have any idea in what version it was fixed? I'm having same issue and using SVN from I think Jan 2007.

    Thanks,
    Eugene

    No, just know that a complete re-install of Windows MCE and update MP to 0.2.2.0 without SVN did good. Hopefully you get rid of the problem.

    Hmm... Thanks anyway - I'll try to figure out more without reinstalling.
    I was thinking it's something wrong with my ears first ;)

    Sound Card AC3: 3,5mm--->stereo

    MPEG2 Video Codec: MPV
    MPEG2 Audio Codec: AC3Filter

    The problem still exist.

    Tried the following options and here is result:
    1) Codecs: AC3Filter and MPA
    2) Outputs: DirectSound and Wave device

    The only way I have got it to work is to use MPA codec and disable ALL "normalize" and "dynamic control" options.

    In Zoomplayer AC3Filter works without a glitch.

    FFDshow works fine as audio filter in my case. I'm not using MPA anymore.
