1.10.0 WASAPI Playback of a lot of HiRes music files doesn't work (1 Viewer)

With MP 1.10.0 i've noticed some playback issues. Steps to reproduce ->

1. Configure MP for music playback in WASAPI exclusive mode (5.1 channel)
2. Start MP and playback of a HiRes Multich. audio file.
3. Playback doesn't work ->

de-/ increasing the buffer size doesn't change anything.

interesting.
this is a 5 Channels file, which needs upmixing to 6 channels with LFE set to silent.

altough your device should support 24 bit, 192khz with 6 channels, i get the error.
As it is a BASS_ERROR_UNKNOWN, it is a bit hard to find out what caused BASS to fail.

can you try Unchecking the Upmix please?

can you try Unchecking the Upmix please?

Upmixing is already disabled.

Have tested a little bit more: It seems that multichannel files with sampling rate > 96khz doesn't work no longer.

But how and why?
Nothing has been changed in that area. At least not by me.
Do you know the last version where it worked?

Have tested with 1.9.0. There it was already broken. I think, i didn't have noticed this bug, because thiese files are very rare!

i guess i'll need to create a standalone sample and see if that happens there as well and then i shopuld talk to the BASS devs.

Have testet a little bit more and it seems, that decreasing the buffer size to 19 solves the issue.

Big thanx for that!

Clue:
With Buffer 0,19 I've a few moments of whitenoise at the beginning of all my DTS-Wavs (5.1).
0,40 works much better for me.

Perhaps: Averyone has to find his own best.
