Was trying to clean up both the UK radiotimes grabber and channel list today but have not quite had time to finish.

I am uploading the progress here so (a) I don't loose it... and (b) anyone else can chip in.

The text file is a load of new channels which need adding to channels.xml for WebEPG. The zip contains a spreadsheet. Sheet 2 was imported from my channels.xml (which did have a few extra channels in) and sheet 3 is imported from the current list of channels available from radiotimes.com (http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/channels.dat)

I have tried to match these up where I can and fix some as I have gone along.

The ones highlighted are ones I was planning on coming back to as they don't look to be matched quite right.

    Hi,

I'm interested in this.. I'm using MP with Virgin cable and just tried to map channels in WebEPG, but quite a few are missing or labelled incorrectly. Have you done any more work on this? :)

    Cheers.

I gave up in the end

The idea is great but it just does not work too well in the UK. The Radio Times data is ok but channels are limited. Digiguide grabber did not always work (I am guessing this is probably a dodgy back door anyway as digiguide is paid for)

I ended up just buying digiguide and using the dg2xml skin and XMLTVGUI which allows me to create an xmltv file from digiguide and I import this via the xmltv plugin. Seems far more stable and less hassle to sort out when anything changes

I used to do the same thing and found it was the most reliable. I ditched the whole lot when DJBlu brought out his SKY EPG/Freesat EPG plugin.

I seemed to have an issue with the Freesat EPG and my Pinnacle 7010ix locking up my machine

also the data from digiguide is actually much better than the official EPG. With MP 1.1 I get all the series info etc which looks like it is going to work well. Also get a full 14 days+ of EPG data (Freesat EPG is only seven days?)
