Hi,

I have noticed that it is not possible to set the maximum grab days in WebEPG-conf to more than 14 days. I can manually change the value in the config file, but when starting the WebEPG-conf after the change, it will crash.

I have successfully loaded EPG data for more than 14 days from the tvinfo.de website for german tv, so webepg does not have a problem with grab days > 14.

My question: Is there a reason for this limitation which I haven't come across yet? Or can I use the higher number of grab days? In that case I would like to ask to remove this limitations from WebEPG-conf.

Thanks for this great program.

Olaf

The reason for this limitation is that there isn't data for more days on the server where EPG is grabbed from.

    Hi tekener,

Are you sure you can grab for 14 days? I tried to increase the number of days to grab when I tested this weekend and I got a message saying that 10 ays is the most.

It depends on the service you grab from. Some providers allow 7 days, some 10, some 14 and so on...

I initially thought so too that there isn't data for more days on the server. But I checked that manually on the website of tvinfo.de, and now after running webepg I have an XML-file with data e.g. for "Das Vierte" until 10th December. I forgot to mention that I also changed the value of "availabledays" in the grabber XML-file for tvinfo.de, not only "MaxGrabDays" in the WebEPG.xml.

The downside to this is of course that the grabbing process takes some hours before it finishes.

Yes, that of course also depends on the website you're grabbing from. As I wrote, one of the two sites for german TV offers data longer in advance, I don't know for other countries.

    Hey!
I Grab every 4 days do to the site not having more than 1 week, and only take 20 mins to finish (grabing and leaving the info in TV Guide).
I do grab at 1:00 am.
