Can i use the WebEpg with the TVServer?

I tried to use the WebEpg in the SVN.

In tvServer config, i export the channel list, it's ok.
In WebEpg-Conf, I click to import, and nothing. (no new window or something else.)

I use the last SVN and the last TVserver.

If anybody has try the WebEpg and the TVServer?

    Hi Cedric,

You can use WebEPG to generate an xmltv file which will work for the TvServer. However, the "import" option in the config program does not work with the TvServer, because it loads from the MP database and the TvServer uses a new db.

You will need to configure the channels manually or use an existing config file.

    Thank you James,

    Now my HTPC is perfect.

Maybe it's useful to write that in the wiki.

I've read it, but I didn't understand that I could add manualy channel.

It could help some people maybe.

    :D

    Hi cedric

Can you explain how you configured the channels manualy. Did you change station names in the TV server or did you change the channel names in the channels.xml?

    Thanks, T

    Hello,

I was maybe to late but I was in holiday.

    In WebEpg Config

    In the part "Channel Details"

In the blank "Display Name" put the exact name of your channel (see the name in TVserver config)

Click on the "[...]", to choose the channel in the list.

    Then click Add.

Repeat that for all the channels you want in the TV guide.

    Then "Save" and quit.

Then run WebEpg. Wait a moment (somtimes long ~30min). and it's ok.

I just installed tvengine3 and discovered that zap2it plugin doesn't seem to be compatible with the TV serve. Can anyone tell me which EPG is the best to use/easiest to configure ? I am located in Texas, USA.

I have done some preliminary looking at WebEPG (really old user manual) and I get the impression that it does not run automatically. I want an automatic EPG, does the current WebEPG run automatically with TVengine3 ?

    Hi Cedric

Did you use the webepg-config and webepg.exe in the mediaportal directory ?

Did you put something in the TV-Server Webepg Config Page ?

    Thanks

    Hi Heburg

I kept webepg-config and webepg.exe in the MediaPortal directory. In the TV Server Management console I expanded the "Plugins" option in the left pane and selected "XmlTv". Under "Folder where the tvguide.xml file is stored" I browsed and selected the .....\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\XMLTV folder where webepg.exe creates the tvguide.xml file.

The TV Server checks this folder frequently and will import the guide whenever webepg.exe updates the tvguide.xml file. webepg.exe will need to be scheduled to run from outside the TV Server to keep the guide up to date.

    I hope this helps

Can't run WebEPG-Conf.exe on TV Server

I have been following the thread and want to do the same; use the WebEPG on the TV Server.

I placed the WebEPG-Conf.exe and WebEPG.exe in the "MediaPortal TV Server" directory, then ran WebEPG-Conf.exe. Nothing happened, I did not get the configuration tool window. Am I missing something here?

BTW my TV Server is installed on Windows Server 2003 and I do not have MP installed on that PC
