Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: [WebService] General Media Access Webservice

Well everything works fine here with the svn version of aMPdroid and GmaWebservice. You have a few items with special characters in your database and there have been a few bugs related to those in the last release. With the next release everything should work just fine...

Ok, I will wait for the next release. Thanks for checking.
I have my databases, thumbs and mediaportal config stored on my server and the folder is mapped as a network drive on the client, could that also be a problem?

Yes, try to change the user of the service (how-to has been posted in this thread a few pages back).

I see. Couln't find the post in the Thread but after changing the user to the account which whom I'm currently logged in gave me the same result, only 2 empty brackets get returned. But it definitely seems to be a permission issue because when I copy my databases to C:\temp\ I get results back.

I need to play around with this...

Well since it's a long time i've written something about gmawebservice and webmediaportal i think it's time to give you a headsup :)

Now that i'm not working on gma alone (DieBagger and Oxan are just great!) the amount of features(and less bugs) is great.

The most interesting one is of course streaming which is now part in the gma webservice and also in WebMediaPortal.
It is based on ffmpeg and allows streaming of hd content(movie,tv shows) and of course tv itself.

At the moment it uses flash because unfortunately the usage of html5 together with ffmpeg isn't that easy :(

Furthermore we have rewritten most parts of the database access which has made the code more stable and hopefully reduces the problems which occurred in the past.

Since i'm not the best html/css coder/designer in the world i would be really thankful if someone who is more skilled would design a more sophisticated webdesign. Any volunteers out their? Just write me a pn and we can talk about it!

    Hi.
Could u add support for the latest release of MyFilms: 5.0.1 beta?
I add a example of movies DB. It contains path of videofiles, covers, actors, sinopsis, translated title, original title, year, etc.
Also I add a example of MyFilms config File (\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPorta\MyFilms.cfgl) . It has the path to the movies DB

    Thank you

Adding support for the database is possible, but the main problem here would be that you'd need client support for it to work. It could be a drop-in replacement for moving pictures (but then you can't use both at the same time), but it misses quite some data for that.

I would say we should add MyFilms as a seperate provider at some point. But first I'd like to release a version with the new streaming capabilities.

I can not install 0.3 version. Installer says "can't downgrade". Earlier versions uninstalled and no services are running.

Windows tried to skip version check - but nothing changed.

Yeah we know about that, there should be a fixed version up soon...
