Weird problem. Crash or menu not working after watching weather (1 Viewer)

I have tried this nice skin a couple of versions now, and it keeps crashing/messing things up.

I have created a new home screen. In it are:
Movingpictures, TV-Series, Live-TV, MyTrailers, MyShowtimes, Youtube, Pictures, Music, Radio and Weather.

When I first start MP with this skin, it works ok. Scrolling looks (very very) good etc. When I enter MyTrailers or MyYoutube or something, I can come back to the main menu normally. BUT.... When I go to my weather and from there back to the menu, things get messed up. From then on, if I select Films, I end up in configuration. If I press TV series, I see the weather again... 'I do not get what I see'. When the skin crashes I see this.

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue of mine.

What would you like me to do for the log. Any actions youd like me to make?

There's a message in the middle. Something's missing, but most of the message is hidden by the menu.

Do you see an entry like this in your logs?

The error message about a missing xml is about the TVgemist plugin. I use it, but its not yet supported in StreamedMP. After the 'crashing' I had to randomly try the correct menu items to get back in setup screen. I came across my trailers, which is not yet working. The message stayed in screen, adding to the problems. So I think this plugin isnt causing it...

Ill try the home screen without the TVgemist function. Maybe this is causing it. Ill know in a couple of minutes.

I checked the editor and TVgemist isnt even in there... so this couldnt be the problem. Although, it appeared that I wasnt using basic home at all yet. So I enabled it, deleted cach again and restarted MP.

Worked nicely for about 2 minutes, and then a spontanious crash with <send> <dont send> to microsoft message.




My conclusion:
-I Cant reproduce weather problem now.
-I have same problem as written in an other thread regarding the crashing.

basichome crashes for me (and many others) too. I'm using myhome now without any crashes.

Try using myhome too and disable most of the plugins (except weather of course) in MP configuration (not in the editor) and see if it helps. If there's no problem anymore, activate one plugin after the other and see what's causing the problem.

To start with myhome uncheck "Start with basic home screen" under General in MP Configuration. In MP you can switch between the two homescreens with the green button.

The difference is that myhome uses the plugin sort order from MP Configuration and basichome is usually configured by an external tool. myhome is not that good skinable.

In streamedMP you can see where you are by the alignment: basichome is left aligned and myhome is centered.

OK, Thanks for the info Slurm. I just quickly tried the switching between the two homes. It works like you said.

I just tried it with all my favorite plugins enabled in home.
Myhome results in the, 'You dont get what you see' thing. Select movingpictures and I end up in trailers. etc.. etc..
I will move all plugins from home to plugins and start from scratch like you suggested.

Im off to the cimema's now, so I will test this tomorrow.

I think it would be better to disable them completly in MP Configuration. If you have installed Mediastream skin previously please disable its plugin in MP Configuration under Process too.

Thanks for you suggestions. It seems to work. I have no clue why it works now, but it does. and I have not been able to reproduce the weather problem. It solved itself I think.
