Hi everybody,

I been suddenly having a strange problem when starting MediPortal. Everytime I run MP it comes up with a instalation window and asks me for the source files.

The weird part is that this only happens when running MP from the shortcuts on the desktop and start menu. If i run it directly from the exe it works fine.

I know that uninstalling/reinstalling will probably sort it out, but does anybody know why it is happening.

Also which files apart from the databases need to be backed up, to restore MP to my current setup.

Thanks but the links don't give a fixed location. The target field says "MediaPortal" but is grayed out. The start in field points to the mediaportal folder. I think thats a .NET thing.

I know I can manually create a shortcut to the program, but if it is something to do with .NET and/or mediaportal I would like to know why.

BTW: Hows the weather in 127.0.0.1?

sounds like the installer caused this small issue when un-reinstalling MediaPortal on your system.

delete the shortcuts and create new ones manually or uninstall MediaPortal -> reboot -> install it again.

this does not indicate any serious issue on your system :)
