How is epgcollector any different to the integrated mediaportal guide?
Is there extra information in that common DVB-T source which isn't being interpreted?

I don't know about epgcollector but the one built into Mediaportal gives around 7-10 days. It doesn't stretch to two weeks but it certainly does more than one.
I was thinking of trying epgcollector but I suspect it will give exactly the same result. IceTV may be the only real alternative.

it sounds like you are currently using the built in dvb-t epg scanner to get 7-10 days, what is the problem that you need to try other things?

No real problem, just following up to the question posed of the alternative EPGs and whether they are worth the effort.
The issue is more the quality of the information the stations provide.

well epgcollector is able to look up the internet to get better descriptions for the epg. It can also get other additional information from the internet (but I don't use this function so I can't recall what other fancy stuff it can do)
