Please try WINDVD 7 Codecs - maybe it is not a "source" problem..

Do you have an amplifier for the antenna signal?

The WINDVD 7 Codecs produce a slightly better PQ. But in comparison, the signal that goes straight from the STB to the HD TV is still superior to the PQ when the same signal is routed through the PVR150MCE and MP.

I do not have an antenna amplifier the HD FTA PQ is crystal clear (perfect).

The problem is actually with the Cable (or Pay TV) STB which uses a small satellite dish to receive it's signal. When you consider that when you put the signal straight in the TV the PQ is perfect. But when it is routed through the analog inputs on the PVR150MCE it is blurry and fudged in comparison.

I forgot to mention that earlier I ran the video signal into the analog software input on my V-STREAM XPERT PCI 100 card and the PQ was very close to perfect.

There is a 1 - 2 second lag between when the signal enters the Hauppage to when it hits the Screen. This was not present when the signal was routed through the V-STREAM XPERT PCI.

This lag is absolutely normal and I think it is caused by the hardware encoder..

Do you mean the device properties in the Card Setup in MediaPortal or the device properties in Windows? If you mean the area in MP, nothing that I change in there gets saved.

The MP Area I am talking about has TAB names like "Hauppage ECP Video" and about six tabs. There is an area to edit the bitrate, I think it is the tab above, but like I said, changes these properties do not get saved

Possible Cause

Hi,

I tested the card with Dscaler and it gives a perfect PQ, so I know now that the card is ok.

I think I may have found the reason for the reduction in PQ when using MP. Below is two sections from the MP logfile. The first is the result of changing to a FTA channel and the second is the result from changing to a Hauppage channel. Note the reduction in screen size when the Hauppage is selected.

Note that it is
