I have windows xp and have been using MP for a few of years now. however, since I dropped cable and switched to (atsc) antenna, the audio on the different stations comes out drastically different. a couple of channels record clean audio. But with most channels it is very bad, usually going from very quiet, muffled and garbled during the actual show to blaring loud and choppy during commercials. One local channel (FOX) consistently records programs that are almost unwatchable, the playback speed seems to jump during playback and the video will skip forward a lot and the audio is seldom in sync unless i repeatedly pause. These playback problems happen on every video player that I try (some programs won't even open the bad files). However some channels, CW for example, records well, clean audio & video, consistently (so long as it is a good reception day). Any idea of how to fix this? BTW, I am very disappointed that the newer versions of MP do not support Win XP. I find this somewhat silly considering that if I had Windows 7 or 8 or even Vista (YUK) the OS would include Media Center and I wouldn't need MP.
