I have found a solution that worked for me in my thread mentioned above - you seemed to have similar problems to me, so it is worth having a look.

Yeah I do have it working perfectly now since I manually assigned IP addresses to the client and host machines.

So my advice to anyone having problems is DONT USE DHCP!
