Hi,

after a lot of testing and configuration I fiugred out a network problem on my wireless network. Signal streanth is between 40% and 50%. This relay to packageloss and streaming problems.

Here is my Question:

Should I get a W-Lan extender to have a better signal strenth or is a Power Lan (D-LAN) tghe better solution?

Depends on your idea of a network and of your networking philosophy.

As W-LAN is nice since you have LAN without any calbes it's good, but for desktops or htpc it is not quite matching. I would use a cabled solution for all computers which are not going to be moved. So a powerline adapter is a good idea if you can't pull any cable.
Using an extender will only get you a better performance if the problem might be due to a too far distance. If you get the problem because you got walls which are too thick then the extender will have the same problems.

So my opinion: Use cable where possible
use W-LAN where you can't get any cable or where you need the mobility.

I agree with MrCrabs. Had my HTPC connected via wireless in the beginning with quite good signal strength, but overall it was not satisfying. With Powerlan it's better, but still not as good as regular Ethernet.
