first i'd say that the new API is the most important thing as it will be mandatory and you need it for the MPII version.

second i'd like to see a new stable build released for everyone before to much work on MPII is started.(remember not everyone uses the SVN versions)

third is the MPII version

as for the documentation, would it not be best if a wiki was set up with links to in in the config app and on this website. this way everyone can help a little with the documentation

Im not shure, but i decide to vote for Bug fixing.
Im not shure because there are two things i missed, the first one is

Play an Episode by press the play Button (Keyboard Shortcut "P")on the Remote, at the moment it works only with pressing enter.

The next thing i struggle with is

Play an *.avi with more than one Audio streams, i only get all at the same time.

I dont know if this are missing features or bugs

An easy one... Make the Sort Name work. Or does it work and I'm just to stupid to figure out how to use it?

Interesting results so far, looks like we're getting some MPII action soon. I actually played around with it already some time ago and had the import basically working, but we're looking at the new API now of course + lots of things have changed inside MPII....willl be interesting.

So, unless the poll changes dramatically, or I don't start to feel better next week, I'll try and get into bugfixing during the next 2 or so weeks. I'd then like to push out a stable release (probably 1.4 or 1.5).

Regarding the new API for the current MPI version, Scott has assured me many times in the past that the current API will remain online for the time being, and def. won't just be switched off from one day to the next without giving the devs a head-start.

That said, I'm sure I can reuse all the code from the MPII and the new api and backport it to the current plugin. In fact, it'll almost be nessesary anyways as its the only way to get testers for it while MPII isn't ready ;-)

Anyways, I'm back to bed :-(

PS: Thnx to Mavoc who seems to have updated the wiki somewhat (although I'm not sure what) and especially daHive who has contacted me and volunteered to write some more docus. Of course, the wiki is open to everyone, so even if you only write a paragraph about your favourite feature, it's much appreciated.

    - New Features
Miss something? Have an idea? Please post it? For instance upcoming episode alerts, custom view support (not that hackish way), full details popup (show all fields inside MP regardless of what you selected inside config via the context-menu), playlist support (play all from season, etc.), etc.

Hi, Dont know if this has been brought up before but I have an idea for a new feature..

What I would like is some better way to manage what shows are available to watch.

Please let me explain: All my tv shows are on my main PC and access ffrom my Mediaportal PC over the LAN. Now my my Main PC is not always turned on but my Mediaportal PC is on most of the time. The problem with this is that as soon as TV Series does a scan to see what shows are available it finds nothing because my main PC is turned off. So then I go to watch a show and it shows nothing available even if I have turned my main PC on. So every time this happens which is most of the time I have to do a force local scan

I know how to fix this of course by setting the options to still show episodes which arent available.. This means it will always show the tv shows it has found before even if my PC is turned off and If I want to watch a show I just make sure PC is turned on and then I click on it.

Ok so this should be the end of it.. Unfortunately though because I have set this option to show episodes which arent available, It will still show episodes which I have deleted from my main PC even if I do a force rescan as I have told it to keep episodes not available. So now I have to manually delete episodes from the tv series library which I have deleted. And I also found if I put that deleted episode back on my main PC it wasnt getting picked up as being available again with a force rescan..

What I would like to propose is, some other option which tells tvseries that shows are located remotely and may not always be available.. And then maybe the normal automated scan of folders will not delete any episode it cant find as it may be offline but put an option in the interface to do force rescan and remove any episdes not avaiable as currently if you set the option to keep unavailable episodes it will never remove episodes it cant find when rescanning.

That way I make sure my PC is turned on, do a a manual rescan and any episode it does not find it can remove and that way I dont have to manually delete episodes which are no longer available.

Either that or maybe in the auto rescan options, if you tell it the episode is located on a remote server if it cannot locate that server due to it being offline, it will hold off on doing the rescan and keep retyring unitl it can reach the remote location.. That way you wont get rescans being done when remote machine offline and there fore removing every episode on the list

    Thanks

:-/ umm that is a very confusing sentence.

would it not be easier to only remove references that are not located, and ONLY if the Source computer is responding to a ping? if the computer is off then the references are kept, if the computer is on then delete the references.

If I set it to remove references which are not located then that means it will remove everything as all files will be offline.

and ONLY if the Source computer is responding to a ping? if the computer is off then the references are kept, if the computer is on then delete the references.

This is exactly what I would like to see only update tv shows if the computer can respond to a ping but how would I do this? I cant see any option in configuration to set this.??

    Ok, poll is closed now.

I'm a little surprised at how many voted for the MP2 option given that it'll be a while until MP2 is even release, but ok :)

So, first thing to do is to get a new stable version out, this means polish and finish work, along with bugfixes, which has already started, along one small changes that have nagged me for a while. We are aiming at V 1.4.

After that, an implementation for the new API in a way that it can be used for MP1 and later MP2. I think it'll be rather easy to integrate into the current codebase. I'm not sure yet, but this might get promoted to V 2.0 to distinguish it from versions using the old API.
This is nessesary sooner rather than later because the old (current) api is a pain for Scott at thetvdb.com and he'd like people to switch over as soon as possible. The old API will be turned off completely in a couple of months, in effect disabling all older versions.

After that, which I think will be in a couple of weeks, I will do as you all wish and focus fully on MP2.

    Thnx for the opinions

Maybe there is a must to change this up and work on the interface change as thetvdb recomends it for CPU use.

not my intention to sound rude or anything like that, sry if anyone takes it like that.

I REALY love this plugin! it's a must in my HTPC...

    Yes ZeroX, you're right.

Current interfaces will most likely be down for good really soon due to hosting problems of thetvdb.com, so priorities have shifted. I hope we can get an updated version out by the end of the weekend which uses the futureproof new API.
