Hello Everybody,

i got a verry strange thing!
When MP is running, and ich switch off my TV, which is connected via HDMI. suprise: The TV goes off. =)

When i switch on the TV again, the MP-Window is minimized and not in fullscreen-mode anymore.

Have you any suggestions for me?

hi DH magic,

Is there an amplifier between your HTPC and your TV?

If yes, I might have exactly the same problem. Let me explain:
In my case there is a HDMI that runs sound and video to my amplifier, and then the video goes from the amplifier to the TV.

When I turn my TV back on, the MP screen is not full screen and often I'm even losing sound.

1) When only video is reduced, the only option I have is to stop mediaportal.
When I do I get a message that the optimum resolution of 1920x1080 is not present any more from windows 7, but it actually is
Restarting Mediaportal does the job.

2) When sound is also gone, the only option I have is to reboot the HTPC.

I don't have the issue when I run a HDMI cable directly from the HTPC to the TV
(I this case I need to run sound to the amplifier with SP/DIF, and in that configuration the HTPC system is not stable. So I chose to have the problem you have above the unstable SP/DIF solution)

    Hi there,

This is a well known/talked about issue - there is no "proper" fix for this (yet) :(

Some people use VNC to trick windows, some people use an external device (HDMI detective), some people reload MePo client, etc...

Do a search, you will find plenty of threads about it. There is also a bug raised for this.

    Thanks,

    J.

AW: When switching off TV and switching back on no Fullscreen

Im directly connected to the TV!
And i have found something, listen:

I connected via VNC and opend the Catalyst Control (ATI Control Software for Grafic-card).
Now i Turn off the TV. Windows recognize that, but didnt change the resoloution.

Than i Turn back on the TV and looked via VNC. Verry verry short Windows (Or Catalyst) detected an old CRC-Monitor. But only a half second, i think.
After this, it recognize the correct TV. But MP is gettin in the Window-Mode.

Maybe i try later to fix it with eventGhost. But thats the dirty style :(

The problem is gettin big, because i let the System run all the time, but switch of my plasma.
But i'm wondering, with XBMC i didnt get these problems, when it runs in fullscreen mode. It should be the same thing.

    Hi there,

People are investigating what is happening, it appears when Windows resumes it switches to a lower resolution (like 1024x768), then after a very short period switches to the correct resolution.

Depending on the method MePo uses to detect the resolution, it maybe that MePo is detecting and utilising the first (low) resolution setting, and not detecting the correct (higher) resolution setting.

I use MPstandbyHandler to unload MePo os suspend, and reload MePo on resume - not ideal, but only takes a second or so.

    Thanks,

    J.
