Hi Ron,
on another installation page they mention a WebEpg Grabber that would give you the possibity to download your epg data on a scheduled basis.... so a scheduled WebEpg Grabber :)

That you can enable in MP Setup(configuration.exe) -> Plugins -> Web EPG grabber & set the time it should grab it, you can also enable PowerScheduler to wake up & hibernate after a grab if your computer supports that.

Does anyone know if this has changed? Simlarly as 2F@ST4U, I cannot find a WebEPG plugin that has the Schedule function either.

Which version of MediaPortal / TVServer are you using?

Up to v1.0.2, WebEPG is an external program that can be scheduled using the WebEPG plugin and is configured in MediaPortal configuration. This version of WebEPG requires that MediaPortal is also installed on the server.

Since v1.1.0 Alpha WebEPG is a plugin that runs within TVServer and does not require MediaPortal (client) installation on the server. Configuration and scheduling is done from TVServer's config (SetupTV). v1.1.0 Beta resolves a lot of issues with WebEPG and if you are going to use a non-release version you are better off using the Beta (or later public SVN) rather than the Alpha.

I'm using v1.0.2 and MP is on the server. Thank you for the additional info. I am still not clear on how to get the WebEPG working but that is posted on another post.

So is Beta 1.1.0 a more usable version than 1.0.2?

In v1.0.2 WebEPG is a standalone executable. It is configured using WebEPG-conf (separate executable). You can either schedule the grab using Windows' Task Scheduler, or you can use WebEPGGrabber plugin (a process plugin in MediaPortal). WebEPGGrabber plugin is not a separate file, it is contained in ProcessPlugins.dll. You don't need to download anything, all you need is already installed when you do a full standalone installation (not server only).

I don't know how you mean that. There are numerous improvements, bug fixes and new features in 1.1.0 Beta, just have a look at the change log.
