if i knew where to upload movie art for movies with no art, i could do it myself.

problem is, there's not even a link anywhere that says "this is where your movie art comes from".

it would be better to have a button next to each listing to update/add album art for movies.

but my main question is....
WHERE DOES MY ART GET DOWNLOADED FROM SO I CAN ADD ART FOR MOVIES WITH NO ART?

i've moved all movies away from 'Moving Pictures' watch folders that don't have poster art.

adding those movies back means that I'll be adding the details and uploading the poster art myself.

once again, it would be alot easier if 'Moving Pictures' had some sort of link that would take me directly to themoviedb's movie edit page.

Cover art for Moving Pictures is pulled from a variety of sources. You can see where and in what order cover art is being pulled from in the Cover Art Data Sources popup (see the Importer Settings tab). There is no link to themoviedb.org on the Movie Manager because this is only one of many data sources that covers could be pulled from. If you want to contribute to the community by uploading covers for some of your movies, themoviedborg is definitely the best place to do it. But there is no link from the Movie Manager because themoviedb.org is not an exclusive source. Many people that are not native english speakers do not even use it.

....right.

but if there's no art or movie details, it feels like there should be some sort of default site to upload the movie details myself.

otherwise, it feels like all i can do is sit here and wait for somebody else to add the movie art/details.

and that defeats the community spirit.

:)

The default site you should be uploading to would be themoviedb.org. But like I said, because this is not our only data source for covers, we wont be adding a direct link to the site on the Movie Manager.

Does the art I want to upload to themoviedb.org need to be "selfmade" or can I just rummage around the net and pick stuf from other places and upload themm, since they're already readily available on the net?

themoviedb has guidelines for the sizes, but that's it.
i actually like the size guidelines because it guarantees high-quality artwork.
high-quality screenshots work best for backdrops.
if you look around on the 'net, you can find sites that have high-quality movie posters.

i found the site http://www.movieposterdb.com/ the other day and it has all sorts of hard-to-find movie posters.
