What is the default recording format and how can I change this?

MediaPortal uses DVR-MS by default and this cannot be changed. DVR-MS is just a wrapper for the MPEG stream recorded by MediaPortal. You can get the pure MPEG/AC3 streams using the convert feature in MediaPortal without any loss or recompression.

^ This is great, but where's the convert feature? I've looked through the FAQs and manuals, and used the search facility on the board, and haven't found where to get this converter. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Kind regards

Alexander

Go to recorded TV, select "compress" and then settings, type: MPEG-2, back, then compress and select the video you want to "compress" (read convert) to MPEG-2. then confirm. And Go :)
