Hi, I have two Winfast cards sitting in front of me, one is a PxDVR3200-h the other is a DTV2000-DS. Which card is the best please.
Also would it be viable to run both cards. The 3200 is PCIe and the 2000 is PCI. What are the advantages of running two cards if any.
I am running an i7 with 4 gig ram and 1024 meg video card. Widows XP Home.

Hi Eeyore, does that mean if I install both cards, I can watch a different channel while recording another?? (I'm a bit thick when it comes to TV Cards).
Also is there an idiots guide to installing both cards??

Yes it does, Hump :)

And for the idiot's guide ;) MePo will do everything you need. Simply install both cards, then install MePo. When finished, tune for channels, then assign the channels to both cards, and MePo handles the rest :)

Yes you need an aerial input to both cards.

With two cards you should be able to watch/record two channels minimum. DVB-T takes several channels (the number varies with several factors) and combines them into a single Multiplex (also known as a Mux). This Mux takes up the same analogue spectrum as a single analogue TV channel. When a DVB-T card lock onto an analogue channel space, the whole Mux us made available to MediaPortal. MP is clever enough to deal with all the channels inside that Mux, not just the first one you asked to tune to. So for instance here in the UK I can be watching BBC1 and recording BBC2 and still only use a single tuner, leaving my other three for other channels.

I don't know how many Mux's youhave in Australia, but I would bet you can view or record a good percentage of them at the same time with just two tuners :)

To put this in Term of Australian digital TV....

Channel 9 has 3 channels, 9, GO and GEM.....these are all on one Mux...so, MePo can watch and/or record all of these channels with one of your tuners.
Same for Channel 7, they have 7, 7Mate and 7Two....these are all on one Mux

So, with two tuners, you can tune 2 mux, which means that in australia with 2 tuners, you can record all 6 channels at the same time! :)

    Make sense?

so, channel 10 have TEN and OneHD, ABC have ABC, ABC2, ABC3 and ABCNews, SBS have SBS, SBS2.

It probably sounds a little more difficult then it actually is :)

I have 3 tuners in my TV Server, so I can record 3 Mux at the same time 7,10 and 9 (which is 8 TV channels).

Hi again guys, well I installed the extra card and did the DVBfix then I went back to the setup guide for first time users. Trouble is under TV Server Setup, it doesn't ask for a data base password. It says to go into TV Server Configuration and click on "TV Servers"/Machine Name - I took this to be "Home" on mine. But when I scan for Channels I get
example: 1tp-177625 7:No Signal this is the same for 2tp-3tp-4tp-5tp is that right??
