I am having some problem which codec to use?.
Some movies is youst a black screen but i get sound
and some stutter alot and some work youst fine

Actually, there´s only one codec you need - the actual ffdshow

It plays everything you need.

ffdshow does indeed play a lot of file formats but NOT necessarily the best.

For example NVIDIA PureVideo (not free) will do way better job on decoding MPEG2 both SD and HD sources than ffdshow

CoreAVC (note free) will do again way better job on decoding h264 files than ffdshow.

AC3filter for ac3 sound again is better than the ffdshow one.
