Which receiver for DVB-T MPEG4? (1 Viewer)

This may be a stupid question but...
Can standard DVB-T cards like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T pick up both MPEG2 and MPEG4 (264) transmissions?

I can already decode BBC HD, LUX TV etc in my PC with a little help from the ATI HD2600 card.

I'm looking to add a card to my existing setup (currently using a couple of Fire DTV DVB-S2 boxes) to pick up the new (still in trial) MPEG4 service here in Ireland.

From my understanding of this, if transmitted in whichever format that can be recorded to your hard drive and you have the relevant codec installed to play that file, then there should be no problems whatsoever.

Settop boxes will not have the necessary h264 codec inside them to do the decoding, so these would need to be changed for a new box that supported this format.

I do remember people in outer London using Nova-T cards to receive the Freeview HD trial a couple of years back.

As PD says, it is just a matter of having the right codec to decode the transmission.
