Just installed irserversuite and still no response in mediaportal.

Althrough i noticed that when i press any button on remote, mouse cursor changes to "busy" for a moment, so event is registered by computer. But i'm not sure if irserversuite caused this. Media center services are off.

Looks a lot like the remote i got with my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 Dual TV Tuner / w MCE remote but the receiver looks a little different. on my reciver there are 2 port in the back and the usb plug needs to go to port 1, port 2 is for blasting to a cable box.

IR blasting, means sending out an IR receivers.

Most receivers can input IR signals, but some can be programmed to output an IR signal.
eg. Your HTPC sends an IR signal to the TV to turn it on / off.

I was talking about lmremote. When i turn that program on i can for example adjust volume on computer, but still it don't recognizes special buttons like media guide or teletext.

I have just plugged that receiver into XP machine and when it starts to install drivers it said "MCE IR receiver" or something like that. So remote is MCE remote. But why mediaportal won't recognize it?

Just found out that HID plugin in eventghost recognizes missing keys. But general HID plugin in mediaportal recognizes only keyboard keys.

If i understood that article on eventghost correctly, there are two types of MCE remotes: ones that sends commands via HID and ones that sends via MCE. And looks like i have HID one which special keys are not supported in mediaportal.

Is there any chance that this would be supported in near future or at least in MP2? I would apply for testing if you want.
