while recording, can't view mpg from beginning (1 Viewer)

I have selected to record in mpg format. While recording a movie, I cannot view it from the beginning (nothing happens if I select the corresponding play option). If the recording is finished, I can play it from the beginning.
However, if I open it up in VLC (while it is still recording), I can view it from the beginning.

Is this a bug within TVEngine or is there soemthing I can configure to avoid it?

Limitation in Microsoft's MPEG demuxer directshow filter. Nothing we can do about that issue (no plans to write our own MPEG demuxer just to solve that one issue ). As a solution you can use the .ts file format.

That is really a big disadvantage for the mpg-Support in MP.
Wouldn' it be possible to use the filter from VLC instead of developing this again?

VLC doesn't use directshow filters, so no.
