A lot of people should wine about to my post, because its MP free etc. But its just the way i feel about it. Try focussing on main core ability's instead of the titan thema. I'm sure lots of people are going to use it, but also lots are people are not going to use it and stay with their own skin.

Skinners usually don't make good developers (and the vice versa as well). Having a new skin isn't causing that much delay to the release (actually Titan has pin pointed some bugs in the code so it has helped to increase the code quality ).

I appreciate all the suggestions, but honestly, I post a news about a major achievement, that MANY users have requested for years, and that took Deda and the team months to develop, refine and implement and all we do is ask for more? We barely take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate what has been achieved?

We would love to do as you guys suggest - but we need a lot more resources to accomplish that. The Team also wants shorter release cycles, easier setup, better MPEM and on and on. Our devs (and the whole team) already devote massive amounts of their free time to give us MediaPortal, and it is a labour of love. All they get in return is our thanks, and little enough of that! So how do you expect we should inspire anyone else to help? Where are the constructive suggestions? Where are the offers to help?

I recently invited several new Docs Group members to the Team, and one of their main reactions was:

I was shocked by the sheer volume of stuff coming out of the team forums - as a mere mortal you really have no idea of the scope of work behind this miracle of MP. My appreciation for the team grew massively once I was granted entry to the sacred realms...

And that is from long time and very experienced users of MediaPortal!

I am not upset, or criticizing anyone! I think most of the team agree with many off your suggestions. But if you really want to help us realize them, the best way is to test features in Area 51 - the faster they are tested and perfected, the sooner we can add them to a release. And while you are testing you can offer to help document the new features to save our devs time so they can spend more time developing what we all want.

So don't just sit back and hope we can do what you want. Take a moment and think of any way you can help - it does not have to be coding - testing, support, design, publicity, and documentation of how to setup and use the features correctly, are equally as valuable.

After all Christmas is supposed to be the season of giving.

A good default theme/skin is 1 of the best new features IMO, its the first thing new comers see when it's installed and first impressions are essential.

Not sure what all the fuss/buzz about xbmc and all the comparisons of late. It's still useless for tv, its making good progress but its still not usable if tv is required.

The sole reason I'd pick xbmc over mepo is to ditch windows as Linux should be more solid and a htpc solution.

Having said that I am keeping a close eye on tv headend progress, with the sky epg data and services now integrated, it's just the time shifting missing before I test/play with it.

the developer section of the forum (the part that normal users can't see) gets more frequent posts than the main section, there is a lot going on behind the scenes, that the mere MP mortals don't realise.

The feature is brilliant to tweak settings via GUI, I personally don't have a problem with using the config utility and prefer it

People will appreciate it when they get their mits on it I'm sure as you said, its been requested constantly.

Mepo is making great strides, biggest for me and waf is the stability. DJblus data grabber for sky epg (I wouldn't be using mepo if it wasn't for his sky epg).

So big thanks to all in the improvements being made.

+1 on that EPG MePo is great and I like all the little features and improvements, but that EPG grabber is the only reason I am using my HTPC for TV!

It's in final testing, probably minor issues to resolve and then release.
