Hello,

I've got problems playing back the following file:

http://nilsschneider.de/temp/test.ts (1,83MB)

I'm hunting for the error for hours now but I don't find the solution. The file seems to be played back correctly, but the screen just doesn't update. There is no error message or something, it just won't show up any video content.

VLC and WMP11 both play the file just fine.

The video stream is straight MPEG-2, but the audio is something weird. VLC shows the audio as two mono tracks, "MediaInfo" shows only one audio track with 2 channels "Joint Stereo".

I tried every codec I could find, used ffdshow, the Microsoft Win7 codecs, MPC codecs, everything for both audio and video, I tried both VMR9 and EVR renderers, no success.

Anyone with help?

Thanks,

Nils

Meanwhile something I noticed: When using ffdshow for both video/audio I usually get the codec tray icons in the taskbar. When trying to play this file, I don't get these tray icons, which means that the codecs even don't get started at all.

Attached are the logs.

Some news: If i remux the .ts file into a mp4 container, MP plays the file!

I double checked, I've got the same codec settings for "Video Codecs" as well as for "TV Codecs".

Is this a TsReader bug?

Here is the mp4 version, if someone wan't to try it (only remuxed, NO re-encoding is done!)

That's wrong, movie is about 13 secs long and there is no CAD program stuff in it. Sure you started the correct file?

Renaming to .mkv is not an option as this is a recording created by TV Server from a DVB-S channel, yes, in europe.
